CanPowerSkate Pre-Canskate Canskate Preliminary Junior Senior
This 10 week program focuses on balance,
power, agility, speed and endurance skills.
CanPowerSkate is an alternative to figure skating
and teaches skating skills and techniques to hockey
and ringette players Skills, techniques and conditioning
drills are taught in a progressive format that
emphasizes how the skills apply to games situations.
CanPowerSkate is geared to skaters aged six or older
who already have basic forward and backward skating
skills and are able to stop on command without use
of the boards.
Recommend prerequisite of stage 2 Canskate
This is a 10 week session for beginner skaters
ages 3-5. Skating skills are taught through
play and games. The focus is on fun while
introducing the basics of skating.
Helmet required.
This is a full year program in which skaters
progress through 6 stages that focus on the
fundamentals of skating: stop, go forward,
go backward, turn, jump, and spin.
Progress reports will be provided during the
season and skaters are awarded badges for
their progress.
This session is for skaters between stages 4-7
and it is taught in a group format. It provides
skaters with the opportunity to learn the different
StarSkate disciplines of skating: dance, freeskate
and skating skills in a fun group environment.
Private lessons are optional.
This session is for skaters who have completed
Stage 7 and are receiving private lessons.
Group lessons may also be taught to enhance
learning and fun.
This session is for skaters who have completed
their Sr. Bronze dances, Sr. Bronze skills
and Preliminary freeskate.
